Carissa

I have been around animals all my life and have always enjoyed caring for them, which eventually led me to pursue a career working with animals. I have over 10 years of experience working with animals in a variety of settings. At Lakeside, I work in several different roles, including Veterinary Assistant, Customer Service Representative, and Inventory Specialist. I enjoy being involved in both the hands-on care of patients and the behind-the-scenes work that helps keep the veterinary practice running smoothly, including laboratory, pharmacy, and inventory tasks. 

Before joining Lakeside, I worked as a Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant at EverVet for two years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English Writing Arts from SUNY Plattsburgh, which strengthened my communication, writing, and organizational skills. My education, combined with my experience in veterinary care and customer service, has given me a well-rounded understanding of the veterinary field and allows me to support both patients and their owners in many different ways. 

Outside of work, animals are still a big part of my life. I have two cats named Mercury and Freya, who keep me busy and entertained. In my free time, I enjoy playing board games and video games. I love being able to combine my passion for animals with my education, skills, and experience to help provide a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
