Jaliyah

I am a dedicated Veterinary Assistant with a lifelong passion for animals and a dream of building a career in veterinary medicine. In my role, I support veterinarians with animal care, examinations, cleaning, and client communication. I enjoy helping animals feel comfortable, comforting their owners, and being part of a caring veterinary team. My love for animals started when I was young, although I had limited opportunities to gain experience outside of caring for my own pets and the animals on my aunt’s farm. 

In 2025, I was hired at a doggy daycare while attending Milwaukee Career College’s Veterinary Assistant program. I worked there for seven months and gained valuable hands-on experience caring for animals, while also confirming that veterinary medicine was the career path I wanted to pursue. I completed the six-month Veterinary Assistant program and am CPR certified. My goal is to return to school for the Veterinary Technician program and eventually become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). 

Outside of work, animals continue to be a big part of my life. I have three dogs and two kittens, and I regularly feed stray cats in my neighborhood. One of my kittens even came from the stray cats I care for. I also volunteer at the Humane Society on some weekends. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, doing crossword puzzles and word searches, and baking.
